AARP Selects Cutting-Edge Health Tech Finalists for LivePitch Competition May 14
10 national and 5 Florida startups get judged by VC’s, angel investors and consumers in Miami

WASHINGTON, DCAARP is announcing its 15 LivePitch finalists for the fourth AARP Health Innovation@50+ LivePitch. The event, supported by LivePitch Media, showcases the hottest startups in the “50 and over” health technology market. AARP LivePitch takes place Thursday, May 14, at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

The event is unique among startup pitch and demo events because it gives startups access not only to venture capitalists and angel investors, but to thousands of fifty-and-over consumers. AARP Health Innovation@50+ LivePitch takes place at the AARP Life@50+ AARP National Event & Expo, which is attended by 15,000 members and guests from across the globe.

“This year 228 outstanding companies from around the world applied to present on stage at AARP Health Innovation@50+, making our job of selecting the finalists extremely difficult,” said Jody Holtzman, AARP’s senior vice president of Thought Leadership. “After careful consideration, we came away with 15 finalist companies, five of those based in Florida, who we think are poised to make an impact in healthcare for those 50 and over – and for everyone. I’m looking forward to watching how our judges and AARP members evaluate these companies on May 14th.”

This year’s expert judges include: Mohanjit Jolly, partner, DFJScott Marden, managing partner, CIP CapitalCasper deClercq, partner, Norwest Venture Partners; and Lee Shapiro, managing partner, 7wire VenturesLisa Suennen, managing partner at Venture Valkyrie Consulting, LLC, returns as the show emcee.
