WASHINGTON — After its first-ever nationwide search for a Benefits Badass, AARP is proud to announce its official contest winner, Jihane Jeanty of Florida, who showed how AARP membership benefits have helped improve her life and helped people in her community. AARP launched the contest in April to find a digital influencer who uses their AARP benefits to stretch their money, health and happiness.
Jihane, a former Girl Scout troop leader and full-time digital marketer, rose to the top of thousands of entries by uniquely showcasing the value of AARP information, programs, tools, and other membership benefits, from travel discounts to volunteer opportunities. Her video embodies AARP’s mission of empowering people to choose how they live as they age, while combining creativity, charisma, and positive energy.
“We are excited to crown Jihane as our first-ever Benefits Badass to help showcase how AARP benefits help her give back to her community, save money, stay healthy, and have fun,” said Barbara Shipley, AARP senior vice president of brand integration. “AARP thanks everyone who participated in this contest for showing the country what being an AARP Benefits Badass means.”
People of all ages care about saving money, time, and accessing exclusive content. In 2022 alone, AARP members saved $460 million with everyday discounts. And millions of members used digital tools to track their finances and manage debt using AARP’s Money Map tool; found resources, tips, and support for America’s 48 million family caregivers; used the AARP Fraud Watch Network to spot and avoid scams; and so much more.
Keep an eye on Jihane’s social media channels, including TikTok and Instagram, to see how she embodies what it means to be AARP’s Benefits Badass. She will also appear on select AARP channels.
