NEW YORK—Northeast Business Group on Health (NEBGH) and AARP launches “Digital Tools and Solutions for Caregivers: An Employer’s Guide” to help HR and benefits leaders support employees who are family caregivers. A past survey of employers found nearly 9 in 10 were interested in providing digital caregiving support tools and services for their employees. The guide from NEBGH and AARP is the latest in a series of collaborative initiatives to help employers support the millions of family caregivers in the workplace.
WASHINGTON, D.C.—A new AARP poll on dementia care takes a closer look at the experiences of family caregivers for those with dementia and found more than half say their social life has suffered and nearly 45 percent say they feel alone. In addition, they are more likely to grow further apart from the ones they care for and other family members because of their caregiving responsibilities. Both social isolation and loneliness are linked to poorer physical and mental health outcomes.
WASHINGTON, DC—Nearly seven million Latinos in the U.S. provide unpaid care to an aging or older loved one. Many Latino family caregivers see caregiving responsibilities simply as something family members do for one another, and do not seek outside help. AARP and the Ad Council offer support with a new PSA campaign, encouraging Latino caregivers nationwide to access free Care Guides, self-care tips, planning resources, legal and financial guidance, and more.
