WASHINGTON—AARP Community Connections, a new online platform launched by AARP Innovation Labs today, allows users to organize and find local volunteer groups to help pick up groceries, provide financial assistance or lend emotional support to neighbors, friends and loved ones. AARP Innovation Labs named Sunu as the winner of its 2019 Grand Pitch Finale, the culminating pitch event featuring 10 innovative startups that have won selective pitch competitions throughout year. Artiphon won second place and Loro received third place, as determined by audience vote, at Wednesday night’s Grand Finale Pitch event. The ten participating startups had solutions focused on addressing social isolation.
AARP Innovation Labs announced today that its Hatchery Ventures program has added five new companies to its startup portfolio: Enwoven, Musical Health Technologies, Pillo Health, Rendever, and XRHealth. Through Hatchery Ventures, AARP engages with age-tech start-ups in the seed to Series A stages with the goal of growing and scaling the best versions of their solutions to address consumers’ needs and help people choose how they live as they age.
