WASHINGTON, DC—Expanding its work and presence in entertainment, AARP announces the launch of its first full-length film “Care to Laugh” through AARP Studios. The documentary film features Jesus Trejo, a rising star in the comedy world who is pursuing his dream of becoming a successful comedian while caring for his aging parents. “Care to Laugh” will make its world premiere as the closing night film of the Heartland International Film Festival in Indianapolis on Oct. 21.
WASHINGTON, DC—Today, AARP Travel released the results of its latest study, examining the health and wellness benefits of leisure travel. According to the survey, those who travel reported better emotional and physical health and improved relationships and productivity at work. Additionally, overall well-being is one of the biggest advantages of travel, with the benefits starting during the initial travel planning phase and extending well beyond the trip. The longest lasting travel benefit reported is improved relationships with loved ones – lasting six weeks on average.

WASHINGTON, DC—In a newly released Politico-AARP poll, Pennsylvania voters age 50 and older say health care and personal finance issues will be top of mind this election season. The poll found health care (97 percent), Social Security (96 percent) and Medicare (95 percent) will be critical in determining how they vote in elections this fall and a strong majority want elected officials to take action to lower health care (92 percent) and prescription drug costs (91 percent).
